Gift Set

Make a useful little gift for a friend, teacher or for yourself!

We made this gift set at my August Stamp Camp & I demonstrated it at The Topics! Retreat this weekend.

Here are the measurements & instructions for each project. Email me if you have any questions...

Box liner
  • Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 11 1/4 x 3 1/4 and insert it in a Half Wood Mount Case (item 127550 - $4.95 for 4 boxes)
Sanitizer Cover
  • Cut coordinating piece of cardstock 1 1/2 x 6 3/4
  • Score parallel to the short side at 1/2", 2 3/4", 3 3/4" and 6".
  • Use a 3/4" circle punched out of scraps to center in the 1" center and mark with a pencil.
  • Punch the circle to make opening for sanitizer.
  • For panels: cut cardstock or DSP 2" x 1 1/4"
  • Decorate the cover as you like, slide the top of the sanitizer bottle through the punch hole.
  • Use a piece of sticky strip on the 1/2" end and adhere to 3/4" end.
  • Punch a 1/2" circle out of DSP (or glimmer paper) and place it on the bottle cap with a glue dot.
Post It Note Cover
  • Cut Cardstock 6 3/4" x 3 1/4"
  • Score parallel to the short side at 3 1/8" and 3 5/8"
  • Cut 2 pieces of coordinating ribbon about 9"
  • Be sure to use sticky strip on both side of the ribbon to make sure it holds as you will be pulling on it each time you tie and untie the bow
  • For the outside & inside panels, cut cardstock 3" squares & DSP 2 3/4" squares
Mini Chocolate Cozy
  • Cut a 4 1/2 square out of DSP
  • Using the diagonal plate, score it at 0" and then at 3/4" on each side of the 0" score line.
  • Slide the piece of DSP a quarter turn and score it at 1 1/2" on that side and the opposite side.
  • Fold the 2 points formed by the last scores toward each other.
  • Fold the piece in half towards you and fold the 2 ends back.
  • Punch a 1/4" hole at the tip and insert a piece of ribbon, tie with a piece of baker's twine.

Here's how to arrange the 3 items in the box

At the Stamp Camp, we also made a tag with the Chalk Talk Stamp Set & Framelits

Lots of Halloween boxes

This past weekend, I attended the TOPICS Annual Retreat in Tomball.

I had lots of time to prepare the kits for the Christmas Card Workshop and to make a bunch of Halloween boxes for my nieces and nephews...

I used the Kraft Gift Boxes (a great deal at $2.95 for 4)
and the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP in the Holiday catalog.

Spring Stamp Camp

My Spring Stamp Camp was last night and today.

Here are the projects we made. The supplies are given but if you need measurements,
or more details about any of the projects, email me or call me.

Easter card

Stamp Set: Everybunny
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Stazon Black, Old Olive, Watercolor Crayons
Big Shot: Framed Tulips Embossing folder
Accessories: Stampamajig, Blender Pens, Snail adhesive, Dimensionals

Note: the greeting on the stamps says "Happy Easter everybunny". I used the Old Olive marker so I could have "Happy Easter" only.

I used mostly Subtles watercolor crayons on my card, but Lynn made hers with the Brights crayons and it looked very good. Wish I had taken a photo...

Here's the card with the envelope stamped with another stamp from the Everybunny stamp set.

Easter basket
Front

Side

Stamp Set: Every Egg Wheel, Delightful Dozen
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive (refill for cartridge), Soft Suede
Punches: Decorative Label, 1/16" circle, 1/2" circle, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
Ribbon: 5/8" Satin in Old Olive
Big Shot: Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die
Accessories: Standard wheel handle, Stamping Sponge, Brads (brights), Medium Cellophane bags,
Non SU: Cadbury's Mini Eggs (yummy) and "paper grass"

Here's the candy!!
The 1/2" circle punch is used to hide the brads on the inside.

"Your choice" card and DSP Envelope
I had several stamps available for the greeting.

Note: I used Whisper White on my sample, but when I was looking through the DSP stack, it has Very Vanilla in it so I provided Very Vanilla cardstock for my stampers, and it works much better (see Dianne's card below)...

Stamp Set: Apothecary Art
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White (but Very Vanilla works better!), Soft Suede
DSP: Everyday Enchantment (Sale-A-Bration)
Ink: Early Espresso ink pad, Markers: Pool Party - Calypso Coral - Lucky Limeade
Punch: Eyelet border
Big Shot:  Labels Collection Framelits
Accessories: Basic Pearls Jewels, Stampamajig, Snail adhesive, Dimensionals

This is the front of the envelope made with the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate.
I love this new addition to the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.
I like how by using DSP, which is double-sided, you can make nice envelopes very quickly.

Inside the envelope.

Dianne was very happy with her card, and she should be! It turned out beautiful.
She used the Calypso Coral and the Wisteria Wonder markers on her flowers.

Here's a closer look.... very nice!!
(the greeting is from Delightful Dozen)

Mothers Day Card
aka "the Sale-A-Bration card" :-)
My inspiration was the notebook which is in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog...

Stamp set: Fresh Vintage (Sale-A-Bration), Messages for Mom
Cardstock: Whisper White, Textured Lucky Limeade
DSP: Everyday Enchantment (Sale-A-Bration)
Ink: Versamark, Soft Suede
Punch: 1/16" circle
Ribbon: Everyday Enchantment Ribbon (Sale-A-Bration)
Big Shot: Adorning Accents Edgelits, Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die.
Accessories: Scented/Clear Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Everyday Enchantment Brads (Sale-A-Bration), On Board sheet, Stampamajig, Paper piercer, Snail Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Here's a closer look at the embossing... too bad you can't smell the Cherry scented embossing powder :-)

Here's the card with a stamped envelope.
"MOM" is from the Message for Mom stamp set.
The flowers are from the Fresh Vintage stamp set (Sale-A-Bration)

This is the one I made for Sheila since she had to leave early. She requested the brad with the butterfly (of course!!). The stamp on the envelope is the same one that is embossed on the butterfly.

Forgetful me!!

I mailed my niece's birthday card (see earlier post) but forgot to put her gift inside it!!
So I made this little envelope using the Petite Pocket die.

Stamp Sets: Easy Events, Tiny Tags
Ink: Certainly Celery
Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, DSP is retired...
Punches:  1/16" circle handheld punch, 1 3/4 circle, jewelry tag
Accessories: Big Shot, Petite Pocket die, 3/8" Bashful Blue Taffeta ribbon, linen thread, silver brads, paper piercing tool and mat pack, dimensionals.
Tip: I tied a knot at the end of the linen thread so it wouldn't fray.

A comforting gift

My husband's best friend David is going through chemotherapy so I made him this quilt back in June.

Here's a close-up of one block. David went to LSU so I used LSU and purple & gold fabrics. Also the polka dot fabric is from a line of Mardi Gras fabrics.

The quilting was done by my quilting bee friend Barb, and she has a fleur-de-lis pattern so that was perfect since David is from and lives in New Orleans!!

Little did I know that the treatment he receives makes him very cold... So it came in very handy and David absolutely loved it!

Note to my quilting friends: this is the "Venetian Dream" pattern featured in Fons & Porter magazine (Fall 2009).
